Tenure track, nine month faculty position in Business. Virginia Intermont College, a private, liberal arts-based institution in southwest Virginia, seeks a dynamic teacher to hold the position of Assistant Professor of Business. Responsibilities include teaching management, marketing, and tourism courses, coordinating the Business department, advising business students, and providing service to the college's governance by serving on college committees. Minimum qualifications are a PhD in Business, with an emphasis in marketing, management, or tourism. Prefer candidates with a scholarly interest in or practical experience with tourism and utilizing social media for purposes of marketing.
Located in Bristol, Virginia Intermont is affiliated with the Baptist General Association of Virginia. With an enrollment of approximately 550, the coeducational college offers four bachelor degrees, along with two associate degrees. Seventy percent of the faculty members have terminal degrees. The equine studies and photography and digital imaging programs are nationally recognized for excellence. A member of the Appalachian Athletic Conference, VIC competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
